The Home Stretch

We are entering the home stretch with "the bean house"! I have been a little (read a lot!) slow in posting about the preggers Amanda but all goes well. We are at 36 weeks tomorrow, definitely in the home stretch. SO I thought I should share just a couple of pictures for all to see the belly, or the "bump", or "the bean house" or "haus der bean" (after all the early references to the baby being the size of a lentil, a pea, kidney bean, etc. made in pregnancy books, this nickname has stuck). This pic is a recent one of the belly (at the beginning of the ninth month).

We have also started calling him Helmut since Manda's belly looks surprisingly like a German WWII war helmet... rising sharply, flat on top with slightly squared edges. Isn't it sweet how Maggie is still completely oblivious to the impending mayhem? ("Brother? What's a brother?")

Here is a photo from about seven months...getting bigger!

Moving backwards in time, this photo is from sometime in August, at around 5 and a bit months.

Finally, this is what he looked like at 12 weeks, we still didn't know he was a "he" at this point.

Hope you enjoy the pics and you can get an idea of the belly progress.

Lest we forget!

Today is, of course, Remembrance day. But for us, it is a day to remember for a few other reasons. It is Jeremy's dad's birthday for one. And it was one year ago today that we came home from our 3 month trip to Europe. Both Amanda and I have had many vivid flashbacks, many of the them totally random, from all the great times during our trip.

To relive the trip, we have been reading an entry from our trip diary each day over the past 3 months. We knew it was like this for all of our friends and family at home when we were away, but it sure felt a lot shorter living our normal lives over the past 3 months than it did while we were experiencing all those new things and seeing all the sites of Europe last year. It felt like we were gone for a year. To relive it even more, I have finally gotten around to putting the Europe photo pages back online to see all our great shots from the trip

Since we were privileged enough to be able to see all the amazing sites and monuments from WWI and WWII, like Vimy Ridge, Dieppe and Juno Beach, it seems only fitting on this day of remembrance to have a few more flashbacks from our trip last year. A phrase keeps coming back to us from the trip...it really did feel like wherever we went in Europe, that war was our constant travel companion.

Our Wedding 2.0

With a little time lag, I have finally gotten around to linking back to our wedding page from our new and improved site. So from the photos page, the link to our wedding is now active.

Took long enough!
